The Barlington Group’s next commercial project is at the gateway between Little Havana and the Brickell area neighborhood.
The four-story office building, at 90 SW 8th St., will be converted into a landmark building with retail on the ground floor, offices and a rooftop restaurant.
The official launch of the Barlington project coincides with the Miami-based company’s decision to join the Influence Communications family.
Founders Bill Fuller and Martin Pinilla II started Barlington in Miami in June 2004, as an urban development company committed to revitalizing neighborhoods within the urban core. Since its inception, Barlington Group has acquired, developed, and managed commercial projects with a value exceeding $100 million. Projects have focused on asset repositioning, ranging from multi-family, retail, office, hotel, and mixed-use buildings.
A key to their strategy involves sometimes investing in the businesses that lease space in their buildings. Currently, their properties include a wide variety of tenants including restaurant Toasted, bar and entertainment space Blackbird Ordinary and music venue Ball & Chain, all of which have helped solidify the character of the neighborhood.
