The Democracy in the Americas Symposium (DITAS), sponsored and organized by the Zambrano Foundation, is an annual gathering in South Florida of world dignitaries, leaders, and social change agents.

The forum is designed to spur discussion about the latest trends in policy, trade, technology, social innovation and economic development in an effort to improve democracy in the hemisphere.

DITAS 2015, which took place in tandem with the Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo in Fort Lauderdale, featured local and international education, business and political leaders who dug deep into the challenges and opportunities that the region faces. In addition to planning the conference, including the Presidential Dinner featuring former Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez, Influence handled all public relations and media outreach for the Zambrano Foundation and the conference itself. Influence Communications created the panel; successfully solicited local, national and international influencers to attend; and implemented and managed partnerships with municipalities and private entities. Influence also managed all event logistics for the dinner and the conference.

Influence Communications’ efforts resulted not only in a successful event in terms of attendance and execution -the Presidential Dinner was sold out-, but also captured media attention, with coverage from both national and foreign news outlets. The international event also served as a resource for Influence clients, who attended the event and met with the high profile guests including President Fernandez.
